After hearing that Camelot was 'the'...
After hearing that Camelot was 'the' club to visit when in DC, I stopped by when recently in the District. Upon my arrival, I was ushered right in, and seated at a table off to the side of the stage. The waitress was quick to offer me a drink, but I had to ask for a menu. My dinner was delicious, although the portion size wasn't as large as I was expecting.
Being seated adjacent to the stage permitted me an excellent view of the dancers. Because I was off to the side, I never had an obstructed view when others were gathered in front of the stage, to place their tips in the garter of the dancer on stage. After the dancers finished their three song set, they would then work their way around the club which would net additional tips for them. The night I was at Camelot, a lot of the dancers seemed to be focused on what I can only assume were regulars; they were sitting at their booth or table, sharing food and drinks, only getting up when it was time for their set on stage. Only two of the dancers introduced themselves to me, and no one made any attempt to sit down and chat with me.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I'm sure that I'll be back the next time I'm in DC...
