The "Pink Palace" had a bit...

The "Pink Palace" had a bit of a reputation, and I decided to check it out one Saturday night.

On one hand, a dollar goes a long way here...dances were reasonably priced and high quality (and more was offered, though I don't indulge), and drinks were a bargain at ~$7 for a good mixed drink. $5 cover is reasonable compared with the other clubs in the area.

On the other, the facilities are dingy...dark and relatively unkempt. The main stage looked like it had seen better days, and most of the dancers were more interested in smoking cigarettes on the patio or hanging out in the dressing room than interacting with the customers. Quality was highly variable...a good mix of ethnicities, always a plus. Most were friendly (Renee was a total sweetheart, for one), though a couple were obviously hustling, and one (Cherry) even called me an "a-hole" when I refused to tip her a dollar for saying hello for five seconds!
