Back in the Carbondale area and...

Back in the Carbondale area and decided to pay a visit to Club Coyote. Out of the 3 De Soto strip clubs, Coyote is the only one currently worth visiting. The night I was there they had a kinda small but good crowd (it was a Monday after all) the economy of Southern Illinois, suspect during the best of times, is absolutely terrible at the moment. The bad economy is definitely taking a toll on the local strip club business although Coyote is doing better relative to the other two clubs (JB's, The Gallery) which are often empty during the week. The former girl who ran the bar is back dancing, and I was not impressed at all with the new bartenders they had working this night, even though the crowd was small it took forever to get service, the girls they had dancing ranged from cute to average and the lap dances can be full contact depending on which dancer you happen to be with, here the more outgoing the dancer the better (a couple of the good ones were working this night). I know some of the other reviewers really like this club, personally I'm not crazy about it, but it is pretty good relative to the other clubs in the area. Overall this is a very average club that benefits from the lack of options in the immediate area and you can have a good time here depending on your mind-state going in and who happens to be working that night.

Just to add, the state of Illinois just passed a strip club tax ($3 added to the door rate) so this club like all the other clubs are going to have to adjust by either raising their door fee (from $5 to $8), raising there liquor prices, or just eating it (unlikely) given the state of the local economy I expect this to effect the clubs down here especially hard.
