I was in Memphis a few...

I was in Memphis a few weeks ago, and based on reviews here, decided to check out Christie's. I knew that the Memphis laws had changed, so wasn't expecting a whole lot. And that was correct. First of all, Christie's itself is set well back from the road, with a wall around the well lit parking lot. So the actual area and parking seems fairly safe and is definitely well lit. There's a doorman keeping an eye on the parking lot and a girl taking care of the cover charge inside. On the cover charge front, I don't remember exactly what it was, but remember thinking that it was a bit high, and definitely included a 2 drink minimum. Which I guess is smart for the club, because it was dead inside when I went in.

I don't normally expect a club to be jumping at 9pm on a Wednesday, but this was really dead. There were probably 3 or 4 girls wandering around the club, and there wasn't even a girl on stage at the time. I think I was the third customer in there that night, or at least I didn't see more than 2 other guys the whole time I was there. That said, this is a very nicely laid out club, there's a bar set back on one side up a few stairs, and then plenty of tables around the stage, as well as more tables set back from the stage. So lots of high quality seating, just no customers.

So, to this point, we've got a very nicely designed, safe feeling club, with no customers and really no dancers, that can't show much skin. Now it's confession time. This was actually my second visit to Christie's in two days. I'd been there the night before with some clients who I was trying to make sure didn't die/get arrested in their drunken state of exploring Memphis. And when they demanded a strip club visit, Christie's was the one I picked for them. While trying to make sure they actually paid for the lapdances they got, I met a girl at Christie's who hit all of my high points, smart, good conversation, and of course stunning. I told her that if she was going to be working the next night, I'd be back.
