Saturday Feb 12...
I had to go to Connecticut on business and decided to stop in at Ruby's for the afternoon shift. You can park in front of the club on the street if there's an open parking spot, or you can go across the street and park in their attended parking lot. The neighborhood is a little rough, but In all the years I've been coming here I've never had a problem with the car. I know the lot attendants and they watch the cars parked in front of the club as well as those in the lot.
Before 6 PM there's no cover, after 6 the cover is $4. Not bad! It's a BYOB place and you're charged $2.50 per setup for your own booze even if it's a bottle of beer. You give your beer or bottles to the bartender and he puts your name on it for later consumption. On weekdays betweeen noon and 1:30 there's a buffet, and the food is usually quite good. There's no charge for the buffet directly but you're expected to buy three drinks while you're there. The three drink requirement is sometimes not strictly enforced, especially if you're a regular or if you know the waitress well.
