This will probably be my last...
This will probably be my last review of the "Dirty Bird". Flamingo Club, we hardly knew ye. Let's call this a eulogy. My first visit to the Flamingo Club was all the way back in December of 2001. And my, how times have changed. Back then it was a shining example of everything a strip club should be, and I was a regular on and off for the past decade. But let us not focus on the past.
My recent trip here was, in a word, disappointing. I show up around 9:00 PM on a Friday night to a mostly empty parking lot. There were about five dancers working. There was no dancer on stage, and only a few patrons sitting in chairs at the two bars. It looked like only one bartender was working. The bouncer was watching TV and doing a crossword puzzle or some damn thing but otherwise didn't show any interest other than collecting the $5 cover.
I ordered a drink at the bar (there were no waitresses working) and took a seat. After several long minutes, a dancer eventually sat next to me and let me know that they weren't dancing on the stage that night. I was a bit surprised by that admission, but thought I would make the best of it. The lady sitting with me was reasonably attractive and seemed nice enough, and we made conversation for a little while. Every once in a while I looked around to see the few other dancers there sitting with patrons at the bar or talking amongst themselves.
