After a less than spectacular previous...

After a less than spectacular previous visit to Taboo (10 minutes down the road) I figured I would check out 'the Underground' again. The last time I was at the Underground was right when the rules changed and the "official visits" increased - back then I had bought 2 champagne rooms and got 2 lame air dances. Now a year later things are starting to get better. For those that don't know about the Underground, it's around back and beneath the main club 'Vixens' which opens during the night. I noticed a couple new changes at the Underground. First it's less smokey (don't get me wrong, there's still a lot of smoke, it's just that this time your not swimming through it). What I really like about this club is that it's small with high gal to guy ratio. Drinks are pretty standard at about $7-$8 for a cocktail (all the girls seemed hyped over Grape Bombs: Grape Vodka + Red Bull) and beers are about $3. Two big changes are they have snacks now - warm pretzels ($3), hot dogs, junk-food (candy bars and little-debbie-does-dallas snack cakes) and they also have coffee ($1). You can still order a pizza from outside, but they now offer three menus (including a new one called Anthony's which is actually pretty good) - if you go right around noon you can probably find a nice gal to share a meal with you. There were quite a few dancers this time around with variations from pretty hot all the way down to "yikes!-the-exterminator-missed-one." I would estimate that 85% of the dancers sported tats and about 33% were chubby (one of the chubbies was giving motorboat rides on stage to tippers - even to other dancers who were sitting with patrons-hot!). Previously the dancers used to drop their clothes go on stage and dance. Now there is a little more dancing before they're lowers are off. This usually means that if there is a dancer you like she will hit you up 2X for tips (as more dancers showed up there would be two on stage at a time and the two would take turns asking patrons at the stage for tips). Private Rooms are $30 (champagne rooms is $100 for 1/2 hr - after some math I figured it's better to get 3 Private Rooms and avoid the crappy champagne). You know things are sticter when you spot the infrared cameras in the private rooms. The dancers might try to make things up to a good customer, but apparently they have to be really careful about following the rules. Aside from the stricter adherence to WV ABC laws, the only unpleasant change is that rather than walking around the club about half the dancers would just spend time on their smartphones, oh well I guess that's the new generation. In all this is just really a great club to relax in, watch some dancers, have a few drinks, and maybe get a pizza from Anthony's.
