Came in on a Friday night with two friends. Got in for free since it was before 10pm but faced a $3 coat check.

Onyx's set up has a bar opposite of the entrance, a long stage, with three poles, in the middle, and comfy rolling chairs either in a "U" around the stage or three-four to a table. A large amount of the chairs are roped off for parties and/or VIPs. There's also room to the side for lap dances ($20 a song or $100 for 15 min). Drinks started at $3 for the "bottom shelf" and upwards of $8 for name brand.

There are a max of three dancers on the stage at time. The newest dancer starts at the pole furthest away from the DJ (closest to the entrance) and each time a new dancer comes to the stage, they shift down one. My group set up camp towards the "newcomer pole". Sadly this seemed to be a bad choice because the dancers didn't pull out their best moves until the second or third pole.

Onyx's talent is mixed. Dancers are either good looking, ok looking, butterfaces, or just bad all around. Unfortunately nearly all dancers seem to lack a personality. While on stage they either look angry or spaced out.

Once off stage, the entertainers aim for the larger party groups to grab a few more dollars and entice patrons to the lap dance room. Fortunately, my group was visited by a dancer with great looks but more importantly she was friendly (!). Even though she probably wasn't, she at least acted interested in us (smile and conversation) and that's all we needed. With a first impression like that I had no problem saying yes to her offer for a private lap dance.
