I found myself out in Southeast...
I found myself out in Southeast Portland with a Saturday afternoon to kill. I'd read about the all day $3 breakfast the Pallas Club has and decided to check it out.
I dropped in around 1PM, ordered the breakfast, and found a table where I could watch girls and football at the same time. The place was mostly empty with a handful of guys playing pool or video poker. It's a pretty big place with two stages, one of which was in use. There is also an enclosed outdoor smoking area for staff and customers who have that need. Breakfast was pretty good. After eating I drank $1.75 PBRs for the rest of the afternoon.
Some clubs in Portland seem to consistently have a particular type of dancer. The rest apparently take whatever they can get. Pallas is in the later category. On this particular Saturday afternoon they had four girls on shift. They included a slim black chick, a large bleached blonde with medium sized bolt-ons, a thin white girl of indeterminate age whose face and hands had that leathery look that comes from decades of cigarettes, and a thin fresh faced twenty-something white chick. Later in the afternoon, a tattooed and pierced suicide girl showed up for work. Stage dancing was as varied as the dancers. One girl did most of her dancing bottomless with her bra (or one time, her sweatshirt) pulled up above her boobs. A second girl told me that undressing was too much trouble so she just pulled her bikini cups to the side. A third girl was an enthusiastic dancer who told me she's only been at it a couple of months. All of the girls were friendly when I spoke to them, though most appeared pretty bored the rest of the time. Only one was pushy about getting dances.
