In the heart of downtown Providence, the Satin Doll is a relaxed, friendly easygoing gem of a gentleman’s club. Although tucked away in an unusual spot, it is well worth seeking out when you are in town. The club is fairly small with a sports bar type atmosphere, has a full bar (very reasonably priced) and several large TV hanging from the walls so you can keep up with the game. Recently renovated, the club actually seems clean (almost the kind of place I’d take the wife!) and now features a new private dance section, with each seat separated by a partition and a new champagne lounge (which I haven’t tried).

I usually visit the club at the weekends, usually toward the end of the afternoon, and there are generally between ten and twenty girls working (the shift change is at 7pm, so there are a lot of girls in the club around this time). The girls range in shape, size and color, and include everything from the would-be prom queens, to the drug addled single mother, but unless you are very unlucky, you should find someone to your taste.

In the afternoons, the club tends not to be too busy, which means the girls are happy to sit and chat for a while before asking you to start spending money. And although this is just a bikini bar, it is usually worth spending some cash, as the dances are generally very up close and personal, with a lot of contact, and most girls are happy to loose their bikini top while in the back room. For those on a budget, there is plenty of seating around the stage and a few dollars tip gets you a nice full-contact mini-dance.
