The Matador is just a few...

The Matador is just a few hundred yards from the East Gate of Eglin AFB, although it is hidden behind some other buildings, so can be pretty hard to find on a dark night. Despite being so close to the base, the customers here are mostly blue-collar locals. The tourists probably have no idea it exists.

The main part of the club is a reasonably large rectangular room, with the main stage at one end, a square central stage in the middle and a pool table and the restrooms at the other end. There is a third stage next to the entrance. The bar and the VIP room are next to each other at the far side. It has a pretty old and run down look overall. Cover was $5.

I visited at around 7:30pm on a Tuesday evening. There were about 6 to 8 girls working and I saw about the same number of customers during the two hours that I stayed. The quality of the girls was in the 5-7 range, with the exception of one young and attractive blonde (she told me it had been her 21st birthday last week and I had no reason to doubt her). There was also an older dancer (late 30s or early 40s) who was much too aggressive for my taste.
