Either I'm on a losing streak...
Either I'm on a losing streak or it's just the time of year. I went to this club at about 5PM on Saturday, Jan. 1 I've been there dozens of times and never had a bad time. This one was just the opposite. The good things are that I got a street parking space right in front of the door and there was no cover. Also the bar was about 3/4 occupied, so I was able to get a seat at the bar just to the left of the opening where the dancers enter (2nd seat.....). From there it was all downhill! First, there were only THREE dancers on stage, never saw less than five or six. Two were of a caliber I'd never seen at MG before, friendly of course but a bit chunky for this club. The third was a typical MG dancer - about a 9 body-wise and very pretty. Her handicap is that she just wasn't in the mood or friendly (maybe too much revelry the night before?) Did one up close dance for a buck and then moved on. Usually they stick around for a couple of more bucks, which I had on the bar in front of me.
I checked around the club and saw only two other dancers moving around, very slim pickings for MG. Then a woman who seemed to be the "house mother" sat on the stool next to me and started talking to the barmaid and what seemed to be an asst. manager. Totally oblivious to me, she kept poking me with the antenna of her 2-way radio stuffed in her back pocket. They were all talking about how dead the place was and how ridiculous it was for management to be charging the $4 parking fee in their lot (the benefit of finding a close, bright street spot outside the front door) This confirmed my original observation - this was going to be one lousy visit to MG! So, I finished my beer and booked - total time inside was 18 minutes.
A bad, short time, but not the norm at this club.
