Pandora’s Adult Cabaret is the newest...
Pandora’s Adult Cabaret is the newest strip club in Seattle (Maple Leaf/Wedgwood Districts), having opened at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12th. It’s run by people from the former Talents West (TW) group of strip clubs, which are all now closed: Ricks (Seattle), Honey’s (Everett), Sugar’s (Shoreline) and Fox’s (Parkland). There are some strong TW influences in the design and operation of the club. Many former TW dancers and managers are among the initial crew. The building is still undergoing improvements: restrooms, a third stage, and a “conversation pit,†with fireplace are still to be installed or remodeled from the prior use as a restaurant.
I was there at 5 p.m. on a Tuesday afternoon, on its opening day. It seemed to be running smoothly already. Approximately ten dancers were on shift. It has two stages, presently, and both were in use while I was there. Rather than “Stage 1†and “Stage 2,†they are known as the “North Pole†and the “South Pole.†The dancers perform one song on each stage. Like the TW clubs, the admission is $10 at all times, a $5 drink (non-alcoholic) is required (no free refills). The standard dance price seems to be $30.
All the furniture is new (not used and acquired from the closed clubs). The lap dance booths are the same design as the TW clubs had. There are 25 booths, whereas Rick’s had 21. So, it’s a large VIP area. A new wrinkle is that instead of “VIP area†They refer to it as the “Playground.†High mileage opportunities would seem to be minimal, because only two or three of those booths enable the dancer to face the direction that the manager supervising the playground, is coming from. While I was there, a manager came around just once during my dances to check for any hanky-panky. I believe there are no cameras covering the playground.
