Stopped by the Pump on Friday...
Stopped by the Pump on Friday night the 20th around 9pm. There were 4-5 dancers on shift and the usual mamasan at the bar. I forget her name. Anyway $5.00 cover charge at the door, but once you are in ask the lady at the bar for a free pass and she will give you one for next time. This is a predominantly black bar, but as a white guy, I had no issues. All black dancers though. There is one stage, one pole, and a few seats around the stage. 2 pol tables in the rear, small bar, and 2 private dance rooms. I did not stay long as the crowd seemed gangsterish, lol. Lots of guys with their caps turned sideways, lots of cursing, lots of yelling. The girls would go on stage, do a lackluster dance, and then go off to hang out with their man in the criwd by the pool tables. I sat at the bar and was approached once in the 45 minutes I was there and that was before I even had jy first beer. I told he to come back in a few minutes but she never did. I was continuously harassed by the bartender, whm used t be cool, about giving dollars to the stage dancers. She said girls have nt been showing uo to work because no one tips them. I responded that the girls didn't mingle, the hung out at the pool tables. She mumbed and walked away. I did manage to talk ti one of the biuncers outside a nearby club. He said the Pump is in the local LE radar because if drug activity. Apparently the biuncer there lets his buddies conduct business in the club, hence the crowd in the back by the pool tables. Anyway, bers are still pretty cheap, and I made it out of there with most if my cash in pocket, but not because if cheap dances, because of inattentive dancers. I am dine going to the pump house until they clean up their act.
