I've been to Billy Budd's several times since a friend of mine live a few blocks away. It isn't so much a real strip club as it is a dive bar with topless dancers. The upside is that the beer is fairly cheap and there's no cover charge.

The place itself is very small, dark, and pretty dingy looking. The bathrooms, when they work, are disgusting. The bar is separated by a short counter from the stage area. The stage area has a rail around it with a few chairs. The girls will come up to the rail for a dollar tip and let you put the dollar in their g-string. Depending on the girl and how much the bartender is watching, occasionally you could pet the kitty a little while tipping. Some girls will also pull their g-strings aside while on stage. Again, it depended upon the girl and the bartender. There was more than one occasion when a dancer was sent home for flashing after the bartender had told her to stop several times.

The quality of the dancers varied. Usually there were only 3 girls on any given night. Rarely did I ever see the same girl twice, so it was hit or miss if any of the dancers were good looking. Usually they were 5's and 6's with an occasional 7 or 8. The girls dance one at a time while the others would be sitting at the bar talking to regulars or boyfriends. There was no other mingling among the customers.
