With time to kill before a...

With time to kill before a flight from Calgary Int'l.(15-20 min from here). I popped in for a brief visit. I was very surprised with the decor of the club. It has Parisian murals on the walls, bordello style red lighting, scores of photos of 'naughty' mademoiselles of the 1890s-1900s era - really quite effective. Watch yourself as you enter the club from the daylight. There are some tricky little steps to negotiate before you get to the main level.

There is a large main stage in the centre of the room, tiny auxiliary stages in corners of the club, much booth, bench, table, and bar seating. Scads of TVs everywhere for sports viewing. Pool tables upstairs and in the front alcoves (free). Main stage can also be viewed from upstairs. No valet; no cover during the day, $7 beers ($3.75 happy hour); private dances $30/5 min take place in curtained cubicles behind the main bar on the left as you enter the club. Private dance fee is paid to the bartender BEFORE you enter the area with your chosen lady. Good selection of beer on tap - Molson products and Big Rock products.

There was a pretty sorry crew of dancers on the day of my visit so I didn't visit the private dance area but I am sure the dances are pretty tame. The bartender told me not to expect 'anything like Toronto lap dances'. I am sure he is correct since cameras were readily visible. If there are any worthy dancers on my next visit I will certainly see what exactly I can get away with back there. I have found that even in Alberta sometimes....................
