I stopped into the CCR for a nightcap last night around 10pm. I hadn't been in here in maybe 8 years or so. No cover (at least on a Monday night), just walked right in. It's a long narrow room, separated into smoking and non-smoking areas. As you walk in, the smoking area is a separate room, per state law, enclosed in glass. There is a bar, a stage and several tables in there. From the main area, you can see who's dancing in the smoking area as well. The smoking area was more crowded than the main area, probably because smokers have few places to hang out anymore!
The main area is pretty much the same as it was on my last visit, but it looks like the decor got an upgrade. There is one small stage on the right, several tables in the center and booths lining both the left and right walls. At the back is a small bar and the restrooms. I hear the food at the CCR (R does stand for Restaurant) is actually pretty decent, but I have never tried it.
I sat at the back bar and had a Yuengling pint draft for $6 and talked with the barmaid, who was friendly enough, and was putting together some sort of binder (3 hole punch and everything). She was joking with another guy at the bar - "I've worked in these clubs for 20 years, and nobody's ever slipped ME a 'roofie.' I'm just saying, there's my drink... I'm walking away..." She was pretty funny.
