Went to the Trophy on Monday...

Went to the Trophy on Monday & Wednesday night this week and had a pretty good time both nights. Monday is "cheap drink night" (bottled beers $1.50, house liquor $1.50, and u-call-its $3.00) and also football night. A guy won $10,000 when the Patriots Brandon Tate ran the 2nd half kickoff 103 yards for a touchdown this past Monday. The club has a contest on Mondays during football season and if the team who receives the ball in the 2nd half runs the kickoff back for a touchdown, a customer who is still in the club whose named is picked wins the money (not sure if it is real money or "club-Trophy Bucks" money--I'll have to ask him next time I see him). Sweet deal for that dude for just being there that night and putting his name in a hat. They actually picked another guy's name first, but he had already gone home. Needless to say, the dancers "gravitated" to where this guy was sitting afterwards, but he seemed to keep his cool and did not blow what he just won :).

Wednesday night was a little quieter. They have had "poker night" on Wednesdays for the past month or so. The September prize for best hand each week (other than a natural Royal flush) was a 32" flat screen tv (I won one of those during September) and if you actually get a natural Royal flush, you win a custom motorcycle that they have on the main stage (they say it is valued @ $30,000+). You get to pick your cards out of a bag the bouncers carry around and they write down your cards on another 3x5 card that you keep until 1am when they add them up. They give you 1 card for entry & each drink purchase, 2 cards for the $25 vip or $30 two for one dances, and 5 cards for the 1/2 hour VIP rooms (those run around $175 per half hour). The way I see it, it is a pretty cool deal if you are spending money anyway. I think the "best hand" prize this month (October) is 1/2 hour VIP with the dancer of your choice.

The dancers were friendly on both nights, bartender excellent, but they are training some new waitresses. A couple will probably be good in a few weeks, but some of the others...well.
