I've been stopping into Scarlett's on...
I've been stopping into Scarlett's on my way home from work about every two weeks for a 2 for $30 with my new ATF. Got there last night and something was different - very different. The club was deader than usual for a Tuesday evening - only 2 other customers. The dancers on stage were wearing pasties and their bottoms were not coming off, and there was no contact for stage-side tipping. The dancers looked miserable, and the whole scene was pretty depressing. Clearly nobody was making any money. My ATF didn't show up for her shift (also a disappointment and a bad sign), and but saw another spinner I had talked to previously and made her night by taking her back to a dance. She said that the new look was due to a ruling from a judge who is very anti-nudity and anti-alcohol, and had just started the previous night (Mon 9/13). She said that the club had lawyers working on things, and once it gets into the appeals process, they can get back to business as usual, at least until another decision is reached. She said that a lot of dancers are already are out looking for other work. Lapdances are also supposed to be minimal contact under the new rules.
This will be really bad if it is not reversed, because this is a great club, but in its current state, it's not that much fun. I will be back, but I don't know how many more times if this is the way it stays. I would assume the legal decision affects other clubs as well, but I'm not sure.
