Whatever
I have been to Rosewood many times before COVID and once since COVID (this past June). I can confirm that the dancers can indeed be cagey on the song count. It wasn’t as bad pre-COVID but think it’s endemic there now, as the dancers seem to have shared this little hustle “tip” amongst themselves and now they’re all pushing the song count.
The place seems to be in a bit of a spiral. There are fewer and fewer customers there now, so the dancers try to squeeze as much out of the few patrons that come in.
Note that as of Sept. 2021, they have raised their prices on private rooms, bottles (now starting at $350), and drinks, but they have a two hour “happy hour” with half prices on everything (rooms, bottles, drinks, etc.) from 9-11 pm. This might not be a bad deal and might induce me to give it one more shot.
As OP mentioned, you always expect a little hustle, but at a certain point it kills the entire mood and defeats the purpose of going.
