For non natives, a quid is slang for the British unit of currency believed to be derived from 'quid pro quo'. It's the informal version of pound, which is derived from 'libra pondo' along with the Italian Lira and Turkish Lira. A British quid is worth a little less than the Canadian toonie. The barmaid wasn't the dancing type ;)

No idea exactly why desertscrub has a personal vendetta against this club and will declare every review of it to be lies, but his neurosis has become such a part of the furniture I'd miss it if it wasn't here. Review is accurate, as are the others he's ranted against :)

Cheers, DS :) In response to Electronman's comment regarding currency, a pound will by you 1 & 3/4 Canadian Dollars, nearly 2 Australian Dollars, around 10 Hong Kong dollars, or (if you're unfortunate enough to live in this part of the world) 1 & 1/5 Euros.

The 2 star value factor is completely nonsensical. You get more bang for your buck here than in literally any other strip club in the UK. Is it a brothel? No. But I would suggest that if you want a brothel you should go to a brothel. I am at a loss to what you would need to experience to give it a high value.

There are lap dancing clubs in the EU? I was under the impression that most of them are brothels that someone had optimistically shoved a pole in to make it more familiar to visiting Yanks. Clubs of the American style exist only in America, and you have to suffer visiting the place in order to access them. The Axe is as close as you'll get in the UK.
