some would speculate that when the management kicked out most of the drug dealers and pimps, a lot of the white girls stopped coming in.
Saturday was definitely slower, and I would hazard a guess as it being the day after Cinco de Mayo, and most of the girls were recovering from their partying.

not sure what you mean by full contact table dances here. mostly air. and bouncers tend to watch closely.
i'm also impressed you were not ignored. most dancers stay with regulars here

All table dances at follies are $10. some girls will charge more if the can, but no matter where you are, the dance is only $10.
There are a few open areas that the bouncers have labeled as VIP seating. The bouncers accept an extra fee ($25 ??) for you to sit there with dancers.
VIP rooms (with beaded curtains) are $52 for the room fee, and a minimum of $100 to the dancer. Many dancers will try and charge you more. this negotiation is on you though.

I was there Saturday as well. I too noticed a number of men sitting in the sofa area by themselves, not drinking or buying dances, while several other customers with dancers waited for these guys to stand up.
the club makes very little money off the dancers' tip out.
the bartenders and waitresses rely on tips to justify their shift.
the bouncers have a difficult challenge of keeping the drug dealers and pimps out of the club, and usually manage to keep the customers from rolling joints and smoking in plain view. (none of which contribute to the profitability of the club)
if you want clubs like follies to continue to offer you the great value of a $10 table dance and $152 VIP, you've got to be willing to help the club by buying a few soft drinks or cocktails.
If you don't have the money for valet, cover, restroom, drinks, and dances, please stay home. don't even choose another club because just like going to a nice restaurant for an expensive meal, if you don't have the money for the meal plus tip, plus valet, you are doing a disservice to the establishment and its employees.
