When I entered I wasn't sure if this was just a regular bar or not, but then I noticed the long runway behind the bar featuring two topless dancers. For the first 10 minutes the dancers just talked together at the far end (perhaps on break?) but then they moved down along the runway. One was blond and one was a dark Latina. Both were pretty and had some very tantalizing moves. One offered a lap dance but didn't pressure when I declined. I also noticed a couple of dancers having drinks with patrons. As others have noted this is more of an old-school place and nothing high-class but I found the vibe very friendly and low-key. The female bartender was extremely friendly, too. I would go back when I have more time.

Pussycat lounge has been around a long long long time. Thankfully the place is going through some major improvements. The girls are getting better, the staff is just as friendly as ever and the building is getting a make-over. A fun place for a very relaxed night out. There is no aggressive lap-dance solicitation. Once all the construction is done, it might be a really nice club again. The addition of the small vip area is a welcome upgrade as previously there was no place for a dance. There is still no real private room, which is what I tend to look for in a club. The girls are a mix racially. As I said above the quality of the girls has been improving. I think the difficult economic times have more to do with that than any change in management. It's far from the fanciest place in New York City but it may be the friendliest.

this is one of the last--probably THE last--of the old-time strip clubs in New York City....it has changed little in the thirty years since I was first there(and Maria the jolly barmaid is still there!)....a recent change is that they have added a very small lap dance area (about the size of table-of-four-booth at a diner) opposite one end of the bar. Even with two customers and two dancers in there it is pretty crowded. The virtues of this place are simple--an eclectic bunch of dancers of all backgrounds, ranging from not too attractive to very attractive. The dancers are friendly and the hustle fairly low-key. After they dance, most dancers all plenty willing to sit, have a drink (not too overpriced), talk and socialize. Until the lap dance area came into being, there was nothing to hustle anyway. I do have to mention one other addition. They now charge a $10 cover charge after 8:00PM, something that is really not warranted by the club's amenities or the dancers. The whole charm of the place is that of an inexpensive, down to earth, neighborhood bar. I came in on a Wednesday evening; the doorkeeper waived the cover when I acted like it was going to stop me from coming in, probably because the crowd inside was light. I immediately so one of my favorite dancers from the last time I had been coming in a few years back, a tall, slim, black girl with and extremely sexy vibe and manner. Two of the other dancers where hold-overs....one attractive and one not. The dancers dance on a long stage that runs behind the bar. They typically dance 30 minutes, anywhere from two to six dancers at once, depending on how many are in the house. My friend did her usual slow-and-sexy grind-and-grin. After her set she came down for a drink and we had a nice chat. When I remarked that she still had her sexy vibe she suggested a lap dance and I agreed. "Lap dance" is not really an accurate description...there is officially no contact and it seems to be strictly enforced. So she reminded me that I couldn't touch. She managed to initiate a little pleasing contact with artful use of her knee and lower leg. It was a turn-on because of her but frustrating because of the limited contact, no bargain at $20 a pop. After a couple of dances I said farewell. The place is still worth a stop if you know what to expect and are in the mood for the no-pressure, down-to-earth hang that it offers but guys looking for more will be disappointed.

I have been here twice but no longer. A group of coworkers went to this spot for some drinks and to watch some nude girls. I have heard negative reviews of this place from other coworkers but decided to tag along anyway. The moment I stepped in I just wanted to turn away and go home. The girls on the stage were not to my liking and easily forgotten. i tried to get myself a buzz to get into the mood, but one dancer who came up to me was too impatient. Her shift was ending so she was desperate to get one dance in on an obviously slow day before she left. I tried keeping her at bay until one of my coworkers put up money for me as he started feeling bad for her waiting longer than she needed (he was already drunk! LOL) The dance was very half-hearted on her end and very uncomfortable on my end as I sat on this armchair with barely any room for her to work with. (I am used to loveseats where there's a lot of room for the dancers use) I understood that it's a semi-private room as well, but did not like how public it felt at the same time. the semi-private rooms I am used to gives a good illusion that it's only you. After the dance, she left quickly, and I was just happy it wasnt my own money that paid for it. One of the dancers gave me attitude for the amount of tip I gave her (the same amount I give any dancer in other establishments and receive warm thanks for) and that signaled the end of my time there. I only came back one other time to host a friend visiting from out of town. Not sure what made me want to go back there, but I thought cheap drinks would be an appeal. I paid for his dances but decided against one for myself. We ended up visiting another one soon after

This is a review of another kind. It’s a time machine. I just had to click on the Pussycat Lounge link in the NYC section because I recognized the name but (I can’t believe) I couldn’t place it immediately. Reading the reviews gave me quite a smile! I’ve not been to the Pussycat Lounge in about 25 years; but, aside from the recent introduction of lap dancing, the place hasn’t changed a bit. My office then was in One World Trade Center. The Pussycat was an easy stroll for some unwinding after work – a little banter with the bartenders, some distant dancer ogling and mild chit-chat-induced arousal, a couple of beers and a quick hop to the subway home. The place was always fun – nothing heavy, nor anything expected, either. I salute the Pussycat for having ridden out 9-11 and its aftermath along with so many other little businesses… like George’s Lunch, just down the street! (Reviewer agnusdei really needed to include this little Greek diner in his great July 10, 2007 area description. John Belushi would have been pleased.) And I’ll find time to get down there - this time for a dance - the next time I’m in the city.

I've come here several times on my lunch break. The dancers at this place are hit or miss. The bartenders are generally hotter than the dancers and pretty funny too. It's a cool place to grab a drink and watch. While there is quite a bit of chaff, every once in a while there is a real stunner. They offer private lap dances now, but again hit or miss, had one where she stood a couple feet away and would only sparingly take off her top. Then had a girl who was very physical and did alot of sexy nasty talk. I tend to make the walk to NY Dolls though for a consistently better time.

So business brings me back to the city of dreams. On a whim I went and hit up the old Pussycat Lounge. A few of my business buddies recommended the place... just for laughs. I went in (paid the $10 cover) and sat at the bar. Across from me was a less than stellar dancer in a pair of knee-high boots and some raggedy lingerie. Apparently there are 3-4 girls up for every 20 minute set of songs. Sometimes you wish the DJ would hit Fast-Forward... other times the girl is just rough around the edges but has a sweet demeanor and a willingness to please. Sadly, there weren't any Double-D dancers during my visit. I like tits... and sure you see plenty at this place but no big ones, I'm sad to report. The dances are okay ($20 a song). The beer is cheap. And the place certainly has its charm. I just wish they brought in a few younger, perkier dancers. Maybe I would give it another shot.

Hadn't been here for years; dropped by to check out the reports that they've started doing lapdances. $10 cover. They used to give you a drink ticket with the admission price, but no more. Small joint, just a bar & stools, plus one small couch. No pat down, no coat check, easy vibe. $8 Corona. Music is unremarkable latin/hip-hop club fare. Mainly white after-work crowd. Past experience showed this club to be friendly to female patrons, but there were none in evidence on this visit. The stage runs behind the bar -- you can stretch out your hand with a dollar, and that's as close as you'll get to contact. No poles, but they've added a couple of hilarious baroque settees on the stage for the girls to romp on. Generally three dancers, and the other girls hanging around the bar. Girls were of many races, all pretty skinny aside from one plump, small-chested little miss sunshine. Range from 4 to 8, attitudes generally positive. They have indeed begun lapdancing here, $20 a dance with no additional tipping pressure. The lapdance area is a little disappointing: They've crammed four small leather chairs with VERY HIGH ARMS in a small curtained area in the back. Very challenging for the girls to do much unless you slide all the way forward, and then you're kicking the guy across from you. It wasn't too crowded when I was there, but this was definitely an annoyance. I took a dance from a sweet Chinese girl, and two from a Japanese girl about as big as my thumb. I got the impression they weren't too experienced, but they were eager to please and didn't mind a little guidance. I didn't try to get too touchy (first time getting a dance there, plus there's a camera on the ceiling) so I'm not sure exactly what one can away with. I left happy after three dances. Total damage around $100. Overall, this is a cute spot and worth a drop-in. On a side note, it looks like the music venue upstairs is out of commission, at least for the time being.

Pussycat Lounge is part of New York history - nothing has changed since 1970 - the same kind of skanky girls, cheap drinks, stale beer. This isn't a gentlemen's club. But in a weird way, it is kind of endearing. No one is bugging you for a dance, no one is showing off. There are worse ways to spend an hour

First time here. Arrived at 8 PM. Paid $10 cover. Coronas were $8, which is not bad at all. Dancers were on a platform behind the bar, that was as long as the bar, with mirrors behind them. The dancers I saw didn't seem to move very well on stage. I didn't particularly enjoy watching them. I would rate most dancers a 5, with one possibly being a 6. All natural, half of the girls had breasts on the smaller side. I did see a couple of fairly cute (face) petite Latin girls. The dancers I met, they were generally friendly, but most didn't come around to my side of the bar. I saw many just standing around or just lying down at the end of the stage. But I did see some customers and dancers actually dancing to the music on the bar floor, having a good time. To be honest, I am not sure how these girls make money. I tipped a few girls, arkwardly reaching over the bar to give money to the girls on stage. Is that how they make most of their money? I think I read here that there is a second floor, but I did not see the stairs for it. Maybe it was closed off. Note, as a club, I rated it a 5, but as a neighborhood bar, I would probably rate it a couple points higher (if I ignored the $10 cover). I would probably come back one more time to see what this club is really about. I feel I missed something this first time around. I would like to see how the lap dances are.

The Pussycat Lounge is a strange place with a strange appeal. Appropriately located downtown-- about 2 blocks south of Ground Zero and a few blocks west of Wall Street-- it is smack-dab in between, a bodega/mart + next door adult store and a sometimes hot hip-hop/latin dance club (Remi Lounge). A parking garage (Battery Parking) is on the block south of it all. Walk in and it's "not your brother's strip club" (maybe your dads). Long bar, chicks dancing, takin' bills. That's it. No dances. Women are 5-8 (with a few 9's). But it has a strange appeal. A boss from London was in town and this was the perfect "safe house" -- not too raunchy but enough nice bodies and beer to keep it fun. If he wanted to step it up a notch, there was New York Dolls, Hustler Club, or Scores... where did Harmony Club and Dangerous Curves go? Why oh why?! :( The pull that made it a little better was the fact that when the girls aren't dancing, they might pull up a stool, eat some food and hangout. Again, no dances... just some cute women and chit-chat... your mileage may vary. With the right chemistry: REAL phone numbers. I could've driven a chick home (she was a town away from me... but boss wanted more bars and more booze). But you have to bring your A-game. Wall Street guys will do much better. (Especially, if you have a 1/32nd share in a summer home in The Hamptons... but it will HAVE to include INDOOR BATHROOM privileges.)

The place remains very popular even without any kind of lap dances or table dances. The place is very simple with a long stage that exists across from the long bar. You'll have girls in front of you at all times who will expect one dollar tips but wont be offended if you don't tip. Most girls are average at best but they do sometimes have a hot one or two. Free pizza in the afternoon.
