A deafening experience!
This used to be a regular stop for me back when Daytona clubs used to be fun. And I desperately want this club to return to its old “glory”. I suppose that in reality this club was already well on its way to becoming an “urban” club when I frequented it between 2005-2020. Now it seems very clear that they have fully embraced that identity or moniker. I’m not saying that’s necessarily a bad thing. I guess each patron and dancer must determine that on their own. I want to be very clear that as a middle aged conservative appearing white guy I never felt unwelcome or threatened during my visit. That being said I’ll admit that I didn’t exactly mingle with the locals there in terms of patrons. But enough waxing and waning philosophical and on to the review. When you enter the club you are in a large secured room with a register, computer and the attendant collecting $10 cover on a Thursday night at 10pm. No pat down or metal detectors as I recall but he did inquire specifically as to whether I was carrying. The room has an electronically locked door that he must engage in order to enter the club proper. Once in the club it’s a fairly sizable room with an L shaped bar on the far wall where a lot of patrons and dancers hang out. On the wall to the left and immediately to your right are elevated areas with decent sized cubicles with upholstered furniture for semi-“private” dances. Those cubicles used to have sheer retractable curtains for a hint of privacy but not on this visit. I saw one guy getting a dance up there and there seemed to be no privacy. There is a sizable stage ahead on the right and a dj booth on wall adjacent to the stage. A R&C was $9 not including tip. I have to emphasize this next description of the ambiance of the club; upon entry into the club I was blown over by the volume of the “music” they chose to play. Within 2 minutes I went back out to the car and grabbed my “airport grade” ear protection. It was truly that bad, that loud. I attend live music events at least 3 nights a week and carry them just in case a venue or band or sound tech favors crazy sound pressure levels (SPL). I’ve never had a club play live or recorded music that loud! It was truly that bad. On this night I saw 9-10 dancers with maybe 15-18 customers. The girls were almost all WoC except for one girl who could have been Latino of some variety. A couple of the girls were on the plus side weight wise. There were, however, 5-7 of the ladies who were quite attractive, shapely and to whom I would have been attracted. I was approached by a young thin WoC with huge naturals and a fine natural ass. Her body had my name written all over it. But unfortunately not so much her personality, maturity or communication skills. But based on her body I proceeded to inquire about private dances. That’s where things got very confusing. In general her pricing didn’t make much sense to me. She seemed to indicate $35/song plus fees for the club and tips for her including some $200 fee in order for her to remove some clothes! That was enough for me and I graciously declined. Upon hearing that she immediately began dancing in front of me with out me asking and requesting big tips for doing so. I stood up to prepare to leave after stuffing way too many 5s and 10s into her outfit in an effort to leave gracefully. I did manage to make my exit gracefully. I may consider returning sometime again but not soon. I really am desperate to make this club work like it used to! The volume of the music, however, was insane and deafening, literally!
A sad and slowly declining club.
This is a summary of multiple weekend night visits, fridays and saturdays. Admission has ranged between 10-15$ depending on what’s going on locally and how much of a local I convince them as. My CM & coke is usually just under $10 as best I recall. The neighborhood is sketchy industrial is how I would describe it. The parking lot seems reasonably safe and is usually monitored one way or another. I did not encounter a parking ($) attendant as I have once or twice previously. This used to be one of a few declining but reliable “go to” clubs in volusia county. I could almost always count on having an Extras night here with the right dancers. Unfortunately this club has spiraled downward as has been mentioned here previously. These three visits I reference I noticed their crowds at peak times in the evenings were very small. This was distinctly different than 6-12 mo’s ago when it had become a popular urban club with lots of foolish men “making it rain” around the club at their tables as well stageside. Now I’m seeing 1-2 dozen PL’s, primarily working class Latinos and 6 or 7 aa dancers. None of the dancers during my visits recently have tried pitching private dances to me. And I see very little of those going on in the elevated dance booth areas. Instead the girls approach you out in the club and shake briefly in front of you hoping for the “make it rain” days to return. They seem to expect major tips for doing essentially nothing. One or two of the girls have the bad habit of taking the bills out of your hand or even off your table without any hesitations or even asking first. One of those girls has even told me not to bother tipping singles, only larger currency for doing essentially nothing and without any real contact. Needless to say these recent visits have been brief and frustrating for me. I will probably try again sometime in the distant future hoping for a new attitude or mgmt. Volusia county clubs are somewhat close for me so I am motivated to make them work out somehow. At this point, however, only B.U. In NSB seems to offer any real value or genuine fun. I hear occasional talk of the Deland club having potential for fun but no real strong or reliable accounts.
The rumour of their demise is well,,,, apparently justified
I showed up here last Friday about 3pm. I figured it was far enough into the early dancers shift that they would be entertaining even if they straggled in late. I also hoped that a Friday would be a good day shift since it brings in full pockets from payday. I know recent reviews have been both lacking as well as pretty lame in their club impressions. I have indeed witnessed the steady decline of this club. In years past it was a particularly reliable club for extras from dancers on both shifts. In more recent times the night shift had increasingly become raunchier with an emphasis on primarily AA dancers and customers. I was feeling less and less comfortable attending after 9pm as a middle aged mild mannered Caucasian guy based on the customers and dancers behavior. So I was hoping to avoid that inner city urban feel by arriving for day shift. I knew things seemed bleak when I pulled in and parked. There were maybe 6-8 cars in the lot. A guy was just getting out of his car two spaces over to head inside. By the time I got myself situated to exit my vehicle and go in he was already on his way back out. I inquired to him if it was that bad and he answered in the affirmative. I entered and no one was collecting or screening at the front door. This was in contrast to my last night shift arrival when they “patted” me down prior to entry. I took a few minutes to let my eyes adjust. Once I could see I understood that last guys rapid departure. There were maybe 5-8 customers seated around the bar. All men except one seemed to be with an AA woman who was dressed very conservatively. I stood halfway between the entrance and the bar for 15-20 minutes. During that time there was never anyone on stage. You can also see almost all of their private dance areas and no one ever came in or out. There were apparently no females working except the bartender on a Friday afternoon. I was never approached by anyone, staff or customers as I took in this sad scene. I thought the 20 minutes I spent waiting for something to happen or possibly a dancer to show her face was long enough and departed. There is one caveat worth mentioning; one of the vehicles in parking lot was marked as a FL Dept. Of health truck. I don’t know whether that may have adversely affected dancer attendance? For all I know it may just be that the state employee driving it was looking for recreation too? Since I don’t know if that was a factor or not I may actually give the place one more try before I write it off my list!
