El Ranchito - La Paz, Mexico

wallanon made the comment on another topic that TUSCL is not always up to date. I agree but it is up to the members to constantly update.

I was surprised to see El Ranchito still listed. My best friend and I visited it 2 nights in a row some 40 years ago. It only has one review. A "1" back in 2006.

La Paz has never been a tourist town and the locals did not want it to be. We had just driven the Baja 1,000 and had a 2 day wait for the ferry to Mazatlan. The only good night life, (per Taxi drivers) was the El Ranchito. So we went. It was not a "casa de citas" (bordello). It was a true Mexican night club. They had singers, jugglers, dancers, comedians, ventriloquists and strippers. WE were the only 2 Americans there out of about 200 customers. Maybe a dozen decent looking putas. (you better speak some Spanish). It was not on our menu. As a bordello, I would have to give it low ratings. As a night club, it was a 10.

I wonder what it is like now.
