SEATTLE — Detectives are investigating a drive-by shooting in south Seattle that killed a man and injured a woman early Sunday morning.
Just before 1 a.m., multiple people called 911 to report a shooting outside the 5800 block of Fourth Avenue South.
Police said two victims - a 36-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman - were reported to have been shot at the nearby Kittens Cabaret adult entertainment club
Officers went to the club and found the man, who police said was security for the nightclub, dead at the scene. The woman was found with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Officers provided aid to the woman until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
Investigators said surveillance footage and other evidence indicate a car drove into the club’s parking lot and the driver fired multiple shots from inside the vehicle before leaving.
Less than an hour later, the suspected vehicle was found fully engulfed in flames in nearby south Seattle, police said.
Detectives with the Seattle Police Department’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigation unit responded to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
