I took money out at the ATM today, and two of the bills were dated more than 30 years ago. (They had the smaller presidential portraits on them.) How worried should I be they're counterfeit? According to the Fed website, the estimated lifespan for a $20 is 11.1 years. Since the bill were changed to make them harder to counterfeit, seems like motivation to counterfeit the older versions instead.

I don’t think you should be that concerned, Especially if this ATM is at a bank. If it’s at a club or something else sketchy, but still probably not an issue.
