Man Charged with Animal Cruelty After Alleged Abuse and Theft of Goat A Wake County man is facing multiple charges after authorities accused him of allegedly abusing and stealing a goat. According to an arrest warrant obtained from the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, Amalfi Avidai Roblero Hernandez, 30, of Cary, has been charged with:

• Felony Cruelty to Animals
• Felony Pursuing or Injuring Livestock with Intent to Steal
• Misdemeanor Larceny Court documents allege that on or about June 12, 2026, Hernandez assaulted and tortured a female Boer goat, causing injury to the animal’s reproductive tract, including lacerations, bruising, and hemorrhaging. Investigators further allege that Hernandez wounded the goat, which belonged to another individual, with the intent to unlawfully steal it. According to the warrant, the goat was removed from the owner’s property after the alleged assault. The misdemeanor larceny charge stems from allegations that Hernandez stole the female Boer goat, described as having a white body, black head, and ear tag number 9, with an estimated value of $2,000. The charges were filed by the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, and Hernandez was arrested on June 30, 2026.
