You ever have the club giving the businesses over the drink minimum? I don't drink anymore so I'm constantly getting harassed by staff/waitresses. Some make you, some don't. I make them make me because i just don't feel like paying 8 bucks for seltzer water. But they are taking a risk, if they force it and I don't like what I'm seeing, I'm turning in for the night, not digging any deeper. End of the day I'm not going to bar and getting a drink, let them hunt me down.

And sometimes they ask me at the tip rail! Wtf is that. I get up and walk out to make a scene.
Only time I got it was when I had declined refills a few times and they didn't see me getting dances. I told the waitress I just got out of the VIP (which I did) and they were cool.
As long as you're lining the club's pockets, they don't care.
I usually ignore drink minimums. Who's watching me specifically? How can you prove I haven't already had my drinks? Are you going to check the cameras and review the footage? Didn't think so, so fuck off lol.
I look at drink minimums as kind of like an extension of the cover charge. Using two clubs that I've personally been to as an example...
Club 1 charged me a $25 cover, but I don't think they asked me to buy a drink.
Total cost = $25, and I have no beverage... 😐
Club 2 charged me NO cover, but had a 2 drink minimum. Even including a respectable tip, I think each soda only cost about $8.
Total cost = $16, and I've at least enjoyed two slightly watered down sodas... 😃
And for those wondering...yes, I did the highly complex mathematical calculations involved in this example without even using a calculator! 😜
Clubs I've been to in Memphis give you two drink tickets in exchange for the cover charge. IIRC, Centerfolds in Worcester collects your cover at the bar, and makes you buy a drink at the same time. Apart from that, I've seen places with "two drink minimum" signs but never had anybody tap me on the should and ask "When are you going to buy that second drink, buddy?" Usually wouldn't be a problem for me anyway.
The only place that charged me for their 2 drink minimum up front was coincidentally the worst club I've ever been to (Club Platinum in Vegas). And what can I say, they got me. Club was so terrible that I didn't even get the 2nd drink I'd already paid for.
Glad that place closed. It was like a circus freak show but with air dances 😂
I'm not the type to "hang around" inside a club. I'm there on a mission. I'm searching for that next target to take to the back and have some fun. So they probably aren't getting many drinks out of me. If I sit at the bar, I might buy one beer and take 2-3 swigs until that target surfaces. Then as soon as my VIP session is over, I'm out the door. Each of my visits to a club seldom last an hour.
The only time I saw a waitress come up to a customer to say the club had a drink minimum enforced was on a short term regular I had once a long time ago. He was an Indian engineer guy in his early 20s. And the ironic part was that he was way less grabby during dances than most of the late afternoon/early evening customers could be in a Texas club. He liked to hang around for a while and talk a lot, but once again, not unusual for customers for that time of day. He didn’t drink, so he would get two drinks and give them to me.
In some places it’s just a game. For example one of my first times I went to a club in Vegas (Sapphires) the waitress came over to several tables near me and asked for drink orders. They all were younger guys and declined and she slapped (with great force), a sign on the table. I can’t remember what it said, but when the bouncers came by to seat new groups they kicked out any guys at those tables with signs and told them “go to the standing room area.” When she came to me I ordered a drink and tipped her. I think I ordered a $9 water, handed her a $20 and said keep the change. Guess what, she left me alone after that until my water was empty.
I find if you tip the staff adequately they usually will leave you alone, and often go out of their way to accommodate you or at least provide good service.
2 drink minimums are stupid
Do they want PL’a to pee on the floor?
Couldn't you buy one drink for yourself and then have the server bring another drink to the dancer you've got your eye on?
I don't drink anymore either. At my it interferes with erections. I have never been hassled over it.
Interesting story. When I first moved to Georgia in 1987 I had to deal with their liquor laws. The wife and I drove to a restaurant 20 miles away for dinner. They had a 2 drink maximum.
some clubs I've been to include a first drink in the cover charge. that's not too bad. But I don't like to drink two drink minimum or one drink every hour minimum. I'll find that annoying in general. One time I tropical lei in upland CA this one waitress hassle me because I didn't buy a second drink at one hour... but I told her 'I bought the girl a drink in addition to my own drink'. after that I just got up and left. There were not any other girls I was interested in anyway.
The tijuana situation is a little bit different. Basically if you sit at a table you should have a drink in front of you. The Mesaros do put pressure on. But I can make that drink last for hours if need be. and the pressure is really ON to buy the girl a ficha drink if she's sitting with you. The drinks are how the Mexican bars stay open.
I've actually only had it happen 3 times in 22 years, but twice at Club Desire. In both instances at Club Desire, I've had my server verify that I have already had my 2 beverages. I always tip my server well in a strip club and in both instances at Desire it paid off. I'm not seen as a regular in that club, and sometimes the wait for what I want is longer than said VIP attendant deems necessary. Fuck him, I don't seek entertainment in a strip club from a heifer!
Liqour and non alcoholic drinks make up most of their revenue. So they enforce it typically when a bum ass customer just sit all day not drinking.
Never had them enforce it on me when I drank and not even when I stopped drinking. I just did it to patronize the place. I'm not going to sit in a place and not spend anymore. I can just stay home for that.
I have had this happen zero times in 51 years. I will comment further when we get to the discussion of maximums lol.
