So maybe the solution is, women should get 2-3 years of government paid parental leave, and there should be a really big child tax credit. They'd be happier as single parents, than with a husband who only chose being a dad as an alternative to the blue balls.
In the US it’s because of religious conservatism, perhaps women in general and perhaps gold diggers also
"In the US it’s because of religious conservatism, perhaps women in general and perhaps gold diggers also"
Tell me you didn't watch the video without actually saying that. It's more complicated than that.
Yes I did watch it. It said that Protestant Christians have not tolerated sex work for hundreds of years. But, in the US, the government tolerated it much more before women got the vote.
Did you watch it?
Yeah. This goes for a lot of things. I think it’s created a disconnect in the Democratic party in particular between men and women. I consider myself a more traditional liberal. I believe in a minimum standard of living, education, and healthcare. I believe the government has an important role. However I tend to be anti authoritarian and not a big fan of imposed morals or aggressive law enforcement. To me that’s a traditional liberal. However women really promote the nanny state and it bugs a lot of men. I remember Jake’s Carville kind of called it out and got a lot of blowback. Conservatives tend to have less of a divide though because by their nature they’re more traditional and men and women in their camp are less divided. I’m very much a Democrat but sometimes I feel like I’m consistently outvoted within my own party largely by women. I despise the authoritarian faction from the left.
@gmd not at all my friend. Its also about delusionalism and some folks desire to be the hero in their own story. People assume most prostitutes are forced to work and that by outlawing it, they are helping to save them
^ next time you are debating left wing democrats remind them of the following: "If you need a law proclaiming that you are equal, it is because you're not". Their reaction never gets old, well, left-wing female attorneys anyway.
The problem with the far left is wishful thinking. They assume human nature is generally good, and that most of the evil in the world is because Capitalism turns people bad. But the truth is, most people struggle with bad temptations. The best you can hope for, except to a few saints, is that they don't completely lose the struggle. It probably would be better, if sexual attraction was based on how well you related to somebody. So the far left makes the leap of faith that it's only Capitalism that makes men want the under 30 T&A. It's easier for most women to buy into that pipe dream, because their sexual urges are less crude and constant.
Watched the full video and it was a massive waste of time @georgmicrodong.
The guy didnt say anything that anyone couldnt figure out with a bit of common sense and basic understanding of human psychology and human motivations…
Its already known that there are anti sex work and pro sex work feminists…
Its common sense that votes are needed to ban something, and that in the case of prostitution those votes are coming from religious folks, women -often married women who dont want prostitution around, and delusional people who believe they are getting rid of pimps and traffickers by outlawing prostitution entirely
The guy in the video didnt say anything i didnt already know, and he doesnt appear to have any particular credentials on the subject anyway
