Guys, what can you tell me about Senator Josh Hawley? I've seen him in quite a few videos on YouTube and he comes across as being very impressive, all the videos are mainly of him questioning people in some kind of committee meetings. If I am correct, he's a Republican but don't know much else about him. Presidential material?

Jump to latestIn January 2021, Hawley voted against certifying Biden's win in the Presidential Election. Failure to certify the election would have resulted in Trump remaining President, even though Biden won the popular vote by a margin of over 6 million.
Look for the videos of him interacting with the mob at the Capitol on January 6. First he is acknowledging them favorably. Then he is seen beating feet to get the hell away from them. Not a good look.
On the other hand, I read about VP Mike Pence refusing to be whisked away in a car by secret service. Showed bravery in the moment. Subsequently ran for president, but could get no support. People don't respect integrity.
When Hawley raised his fist to the Jan 6 demonstrators, it was before any rioting or trespassing had begun. He's a typical Republican member of Congress, supporting Trump, but waffling about some of Trump's more insane actions. But Hawley has found some spine when it comes to the Epstein Scandal. He probably would have gotten primaried, if he were up for reelection this year.
He's probably the most pro union anit monopoly guy of the republican senators. He'll actually agree with Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren on some stuff. I think he came up as a lawyer that probably where he get's his cross examination abilities from. I remember one where he was going after some psycho teacher with a nose ring a couple years back. I like John Kennedy from the Senate as well, just easy going guy, funny.
^ if you listen to John Kennedy you may think he’s just a hillbilly but the guy speaks logic. I feel that he’s found a way to disagree with Trump without actually saying it, it helps that he seems to know how to patronize the right way too.
I also really like James Talarico. Don’t know a ton about him but from what I’ve seen so far I’m impressed, and apparently a lot of other more center-leaning republicans like what he has to say too.
He is an idiot and most of the time is speaking nonsense. He only appears to be impressive because he speaks loudly and acts antagonistic. His job pretty much is to do those interrogations so hes not acting that way out of bravery
He was a Jan 6 co-conspirator. That says it all.
^Conspiracy nut. Time to adjust your tinfoil hat.
@shailynn : do a little research on Talarico. He's a typical woke radical.
He's pro-Islam, pro-transing of kids, pro-illegal immigration, pro-DEI, pro-court packing, pro-critical and intersectional race theory, pro-BLM, and worse.
Only a small minority of protesters on Jan 6 did anything illegal. Likewise, only a small minority of George Floyd protesters did anything illegal. The extremist fringe on both sides needs lies, to buffalo the country into accepting their dangerous objectives.
^its probably a higher % of BLM protesters who did something illegal than Jan 6 protesters.
The other thing is there’s different levels to illegal. BLM protesters did a lot more violent acts both in proportionality and number. BLM also held a lot more violent protests than Jan 6 which was only a single protest event.
@theone&only we need some level of illegal immigration for cheap labor. If we didnt have illegal immigration than guys like you would be complaining about the price of everything and your new boogeymen would be the evil businesses instead of the evil immigrants.
Also, at this point, why not admit you dont support freedom of religion..? Mainstream repubs are in this weird state of mind where they dont agree with the constitution, but dont want to publicly reject it, since they also need to reference the constitution at times
Love John Kennedy and Talrico is a left wing douchebag with no redeeming qualities. No different than Tim Walz.
^ Exactly, just like Walz was an attempt to put a fat white face on a far-left agenda, Talarico is an attempt to put a Christian face on a far-left agenda. There's negligible daylight betwen him and Liz Warren.
I will have to read up on James Talarico more. I saw him on Real Time with Bill Maher and he seemed sharp, then again he was “debating” with Lauren Boebert so anyone would seem sharp going up against her.

He's a staunch Republican senator but I don't see him mentioned as a 2028 contender.
