Hey TJ Mongers: Is the TJ Donkey show a myth? Or was it a real thing? Not something I’d ever be interested in seeing, but forever I’ve heard that of there were Donkey shows in TJ back in the ‘70’s, but no one seems to knows anyone to have actually seen it (or willing to admit to seeing it), so I’m thinking it may be a myth or urban legend perpetuated by gringos. Mythbusters should look into this.

Ed Calderon, a former Mexican cop who now is a U.S. security expert told a very credible sounding story about going to a donkey show in Tijuana. I think in the 90s I heard him tell the story on the Adam Carolla podcast.

In my 11 years of going to tijuana, I’ve never seen one. Nor have I tried to find one.
I think it is a myth. I was there is 1961 and no one tried to offer us one.
I do know that in Acapulco in the 70's a live sex show was available in one of the 3 bordellos in the hills. I forgot which one but I was there, having a drink with one of the girls outside on the patio when 3 taxi's pulled up and 6 couples got out. My girl told me they were there for a pre arranged sex show and that one of the waiters was the male participant.
