Seeing a lot of talk on social media that the price of pussy is about to go way down for a bit, as government daddy may not be footing the grocery bill November 1st.
Not trying to get into an overt political discussion, just soliciting opinions about what the downstream effects are likely to be-- do you think the ladies are going to be hustling extra hard for those dollars? Think the shutdown will end before then? Assuming SNAP is turned off for a time, I'll be avoiding the clubs in the worst part of town as I'm concerned public safety might deteriorate.

I havent looked deeply into SNAP- is it basically a welfare program covering some grocery bills if your below a certain income level? If thats the case its debatable if it should exist at all.
And i definitely think it would impact any dancer who was previously using it. It may have a downstream effect even on dancers who werent using it- due to other dancers prices coming down
Yeah-- it covers a large amount of groceries depending on the state. And I suspect most girls are on it because they don't show a lot of income. Will be interesting to see
SNAP is what used to be called food stamps. 12,5% of Americans receive it. 36% are children. Most recipients are white, although minorities are over represented. In addition to max earning thresholds ($3K/month for a family of four) there are work requirements for non-elderly non-disabled adults. Benefits range from $125-200/month depending on location. I don’t see suspension of SNAP benefits leading to fire sales in the VIP. I definitely don’t see hordes of SNAP recipients wreaking vengeance on mongers patronizing clubs in the worst parts of town
In my state the max benefit is $300 per person, as verified on the website. USDA 2025 report states 35 percent of SNAP recipients identified as white (whites make up 60 percent of the population). 26 percent of the SNAP recipients identified as black (blacks constitute 13 percent of the population), 16 percent Hispanic, 4 percent Asian, 1 percent Native, 17 percent race unknown. So saying "most recipients are white" is inaccurate. A plurality. Maybe.

During the Covid lockdowns many people were thrown out of work but it took awhile for their unemployment benefits to come through because of the system for signing up becoming overwhelmed. I had two separate occasions of females coming up to me in the same month, once in front of a convenience store and once in front of a restaurant, offering to do something sexual with me for money. That is the only time that has happened to me. You may see such situations with no SNAP benefits going out.

Many strippers qualify for SNAP because the gubment doesn't know about most of their income. But, if a woman would really be desperate without SNAP benefits, it's because she's unwilling to do sex work, or there are not enough interested PLs.

What kind of ghetto bunny strippers are you guys talking about? No way the perfectly manicured Latinas in the upscale south Florida clubs are using food stamps. So I don’t expect to see anyone change in supply and demand based on the govt shutdown. If anything, I’m expecting to see some travelers hitting the local clubs this weekend since the Ft Lauderdale boat show brings tens of thousands of wealthy tourists to town with money to spend.
Immigrants (who plan on staying) are better about not hiding income. Showing financial solvency helps you get permanent residence and citizenship.
I would guess the financial situation of the higher-earning strippers correlates pretty well with the stock market. Because having high discretionary income correlates with having a good share of corporate earnings.
Notice how filet mignon is SNAP-eligible: walmart.com . Lobbyists have made SNAP as much about corporate welfare to the food industry, as a cost-effective program to help poor people afford enough healthy food.
