I have no doubts at all that Sandy Cortez has Schumer's senate seat in her focus. Schumer is becoming more of a buffoon over and over, and the Radical Left is like sharks in bloody water. Schumer supported the OBBB and got crushed by the Radical Leftists. Now, he "commands" his minions to "shutdown" the gov't which really doesn't shutdown. If Schumer wins the NYS Dem Primary for Senate, you know the DNC is running voting.
This gives Trump and his crew legal "Supreme Executive Authority" (re: as the Monty Python and the Holy Grail "Constitutional Peasants" Dennis and Old Woman would say) a golden opportunity to trim back the extreme scope creep 12 years of Obama/Biden injected.

Can it actually be true that most dems feel Schumer is too centrist? He's a New York Jew, a bombastic old man who openly threatens Supreme Court Justices, a rubber stamp for Obama, Biden, and Pelosi, an East coast elitist insider who cannot even convincingly fake a picture of himself cooking out, and someone who would rather shut down the government and watch soldiers' children starve than compromise and take funds away from his wealthy globalist donors. If that's considered "conservative" by most of the democrat party, they are truly lost.

I was surprised to see that Durbin and Kaine were two the senators to vote with the GOP to reopen the government. I wonder if they were asked to, by DNC leadership (and provide cover for more vulnerable seats), or if they believed they needed to for the airline industry in IL and federal workers in VA?

I too am surprised at Durbin and Kaine. I loathe Durbin with the fire of a 1000 suns, but I guess a broken clock is right every now and then.
My political junky friend says Durbin and Kaine were urged by Schumer to provide some legitimacy to otherwise purple senators, while Schumer can claim he voted against it himself.

RCV is anything BUT Democracy. The Left screams how the GOP is "destroying our Democracy" yet they support the ass-backwards RCV, non-Democracy process of "one vote" rather than the one that gets the most wins the seat. Wherever RCV is used, the Left wins per the Plan.
Colorado had RCV on the 2024 Ballot and it (thankfully) was defeated. The Radical Leftists will try again and again.
Voting is the only thing we have that is about Democracy. And voting is it. I would like to see a Federal Law, better yet an Amendment, banning RCV for federal seats: US Senate, US House and POTUS as these positions have national implications. As an Amendment, just use plain language, keep it STUPID SIMPLE and SHORT, and write the original with a quill pen like the Founding Fathers used.
