I just wanted to pass this along to everyone. Kandy's Adult Playground in Waterford, PA has a very strict "No Cell Phone" policy.
I arrived last night and missed the sign at the front door because I was focused on the cover prices.
Once inside and while paying the cover, the door girl never said anything to me about the club's policy. Upon entering, one of ladies, Dani, gave me a tour of the place and the rundown of where the dances were and how much everything cost.
After the tour, I went outside to smoke. I pulled my phone out to check the time and was immediately swarmed by two bouncers who told me I had to go. <y thought was they were just walking me out to make sure I put my phone in my car.
I came back to the door and was met by the owner/manager (not sure exactly), who was surrounded by four security who were doing their classic bouncer pose. The gentlemen asked for my ID and scanned it. He then informed me I was banned forever, and not to return. He claimed three people told me about the policy. I tried to explain everything, and he completely cut me off and didn't want to hear it.
So, if you're ever in the area, and stop at Kandy's (which I hear is a great time), make sure you leave your phone in your car. I just wanted to forewarn everyone, so this doesn't happen to anyone else. In my opinion, the punishment was a little harsh. I'll also add the door girl should've said something.

I knew about this. I'm planning to stop by this week during a drive trip to Syracuse from Colorado Springs.

Seems pretty harsh to me. You went out to smoke and pulled your phone out to check the time while you were out to smoke. Wow. You weren't in the club... right?

I prefer to leave my cell phone in my car. One reason I won't use valet. But what about a hot day. Leave you phone in you car and kill the battery or pass on the club?

Sounds extremely harsh. There’s usually more to the story. But thanks for the warning for others.

Sounds like management is a bunch of wannabe thugs.

Just to be clear to everyone I was outside smoking when I pulled my phone out. I didn’t have it out inside the club.
I also want to add I had been there about 10 minutes. When I was being banned, management said to me that three people had said something to me about my phone. I told him he had me mistaken with someone else and that I had just gotten there. However, he dismissed me and didn’t want to hear it.

I remember no cellphone rules at clubs. But nowadays it seems like everyone is on their phone. Making videos for social media.

I couldn't go to a club where I wasn't allowed to have a cell phone, because I'm effectively on call 24 hours a day. Even if that weren't true, I don't really feel safe without a phone on me -- the worst kind of shit could go down and I couldn't do anything about it. Also, if my wife had an emergency she wouldn't be able to get hold of me. It sounds like the club management is paranoid, and it's safer not to be there.

This place sounds awful. I would never allow a strip club to scan my ID.

Yes, that is a policy here, and yes they enforce excessive bands, and yes they scan IDs. BUT... I've been going here for at least 7 years. Never once in many dozens of visits has the doorman not stopped / reminded patrons not to bring a cell phone inside... and the no cell phone signs are posted everywhere.

A lot of times the way they look at it is if you cant follow the most basic rules you might be a problem customer in other ways.

@icey they also ban customers they think could be a liability. You mentioned getting banned or refused entry at a few vegas clubs- it obviously could be in large part because of your ponytail going all the way down to your back. someone could accidentally yank it or it could get stuck in a chair, doorway or servers clothes etc and you would then threaten legal action…

mjx....well she forgot this night. Had she said something, I would've turned around and went back to my car
