Border Crossing back to the US for a non-US citizen

Hi. Has anyone who is not a US citizen (on a tourist visa) crossed back from Tijuana to San Diego after a Hong Kong visit recently? How was the questioning and experience? Is it more difficult/tricky than before? Anything I need to keep in mind or be careful about?

Would not even think about doing it. They seem to be taking prople for no reason.
