R.I.P. George Wendt, who was "Norm" on Cheers. One of the best shows on TV; ever. The bar is now called Cheers, but in reality, it will always be the Bull and Finch Pub to those of us who went there in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Kind of funny to remember when television was actually funny, but with Ted Danson, Shelly Long, Woody Harrelson and Kelsey Grammer it would have been hard to not be a hit. R.I.P. Norm.

R.I.P. George. Cheers also gets my vote for the best theme song ever...

Was never my favorite show but I stopped watching it when Kirstie Allie replaced Shelly Long.

I'll watch a rerun of it once in awhile.
I still consider Seinfeld much better.

Cheers was one of the few shows that got better with cast changes. Woody was way, way better and funnier than Coach. And I actually liked Kirstie Alley better than Shelly Long. And when Frasier and his wife became main characters, the show was at its best.
George Wendt was the constant and probably the funniest guy on the show. I remember seeing him in some celebrity game show and he was incredibly smart.

My favorite Cheers episode was when he was basically the hatchet man for his company and had to fire people. It was so emotionally hard on him. He started crying. The employees were banking him for firing them because he was such a compassionate person. But finally, the tears ran out and the guy he fired got really angry.
