Yeah that sucks. Some of these places have inflated ideas of what they are. I had to take a hat back to my car the other day when I went to Baby Dolls Dallas rather than leave it in the lobby. Then I walked in and saw nothing but wall to wall Cubans. I actually thought certain emo mongers were exaggerating about the Cuban takeover of Dallas clubs, but maybe they aren't. I left after about 10 minutes to go another club in town that's been reliable (and it was). Only two girls on shift but the one I picked was worth it.

I think it was the Crocs you were wearing, not tank that caused them to turn you away.

I used to get shit t night at the Boardroom Cabaret because I am the worst dressed man on earth; however, after a few visits where I spent, the problem seems to have disappeared and I am now welcomed as just another guy whi dressed in the bargain outlet.

@skibum 👍 Being comfortable is way more important to me than trying to impress others with the way that I'm dressed.

BDD is one of the very few places where I've ever been willing to slightly alter my typical attire just to be able to get into the club without incident, and honestly, I'm not sure I'd bother with that again. Kind of like skibum said, if a club wants me to spend my money there, they generally need to accept me the way that I prefer to dress...

been going to BBDs for 30 plus years. My favorite club by far. To clarify dress code. The ban on t-shirts was lifted back when t-shirts became expensive and popular. The tank top problem is that no wife beaters are allowed. I used to carry a collared shirt in the car just to be prepared for here. I know my friends and I made many a trip down the street to the thrift store to buy a stupid collared shirt back in the day! Shorts are allowed if they have a zipper. No sweats or jersey shorts. 'No ball caps only cowboy hats and I think fedoras allowed. This club was very posh when it first opened in its current location hence the dress code.

When I started traveling a lot, at least 100 nights a year, I started to make sure that I wore nice clothes while traveling. This got me treated better by people as I am usually a stranger to everyone.

You can still wear shorts with a nice, collared shirt and be business casual. It's natural that people judge strangers by their appearance.
