Dress code

I was stuck in Dallas on an unexpected overnight layover from Miami.
Figured I'd come to check it out after a fun visit last year.
I was in shorts and a Nike tank and was turned away at the door after ubering 20mins to get there after midnight, because "We have a very strict dress code".

Really? Cause my tank top is just going to ruin the whole vibe of the place?

Maybe you should have that info posted somewhere on the Internet!!!!

Waste of my time and money ubering there and back to my hotel. Despite the great milage and talent here... This is just stupid.

Yeah that sucks. Some of these places have inflated ideas of what they are. I had to take a hat back to my car the other day when I went to Baby Dolls Dallas rather than leave it in the lobby. Then I walked in and saw nothing but wall to wall Cubans. I actually thought certain emo mongers were exaggerating about the Cuban takeover of Dallas clubs, but maybe they aren't. I left after about 10 minutes to go another club in town that's been reliable (and it was). Only two girls on shift but the one I picked was worth it.

I think it was the Crocs you were wearing, not tank that caused them to turn you away.

I used to get shit t night at the Boardroom Cabaret because I am the worst dressed man on earth; however, after a few visits where I spent, the problem seems to have disappeared and I am now welcomed as just another guy whi dressed in the bargain outlet.

Not wearing a tank top is kind of common sense though.
But mostly dress codes are always at their discretion

Don’t dress like a bum and you’ll be good 🤷‍♂️.

Don’t wear a fucking tank to a nice club. Put on a dress shirt or a golf shirt, you’re a grown man.

@skibum 👍 Being comfortable is way more important to me than trying to impress others with the way that I'm dressed.

BDD is one of the very few places where I've ever been willing to slightly alter my typical attire just to be able to get into the club without incident, and honestly, I'm not sure I'd bother with that again. Kind of like skibum said, if a club wants me to spend my money there, they generally need to accept me the way that I prefer to dress...
