Stockholm syndrom is about identifying with your abuser.

Often victims (You People) develop this as a means of survival, and believe to be a tactic for defending themselves psychologically and physically against being harmed by the abuser (The 1%)

Cognitive dissonance occurs when a person's behavior and beliefs do not complement each other or when they hold two contradictory beliefs.(like you people do)

It causes a feeling of discomfort that can motivate you people to try to feel better.

You People may do this via defense mechanisms, such as avoidance and or denial.
