The progressive policies mentioned are about abortion which a majority of Americans support almost everywhere. However in Republican states a majority of Republicans are opposed to it so legislatures try to ban it. Even in Florida where a pro-choice initiative failed it was because it required 60 percent and wasn’t far off.

You could put it on the ballot in right wing Texas and abortion rights would pass but right wing politicians have made it a felony.

You need to do a little post election analysis. The results clearly indicate what I’ve been saying. The Democrats are the party of the coastal elites. Advanced degree high earners in tech fields. The Republicans are now the party of the average worker. Hard working union members trying to make ends meet. Black and Hispanic men trying to succeed in business.
