The truth hurts, but if you accept it, it will set you free
Title couldn’t say it all.

In the US, there is basically one party - the business party.

It has two factions, called Democrats and Republicans, which are somewhat different but carry out variations on the same policies.

By and large, I am opposed to those policies.

As is most of the population.

“As is most of the population”

That is simply a false statement. Poll after poll after poll over the last 50 years indicate that 60% or more of the population has a positive view of capitalism

"No government of the left has done as much for the poor as capitalism has. Even when it comes to the redistribution of income, the left talks the talk but the free market walks the walk. What do the poor most need? They need to stop being poor. And how can that be done, on a mass scale, except by an economy that creates vastly more wealth? Yet the political left has long had a remarkable lack of interest in how wealth is created. As far as they are concerned, wealth exists somehow and the only interesting question is how to redistribute it."

Like Slavery, Apartheid and Racism, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings.

I actually agree with you. Neither party had their constituents best interest in mind. Thet have their donors best interests in mind. The benefits you receive is only circumstantial at best.

Capitalism was never the problem. The problem has and will continue to be how we implement Capitalism. The same wealth that could be used to help the country at all levels is typically concentrated in a relatively small percentage of the population. Nobody is owed wealth, that's the issue Conservatives preach about. But if we are being honest not everyone has access to the tools needed to attain and later grow said wealth.

The two party political system is effectively broken down. I watch a lot of rise and fall videos of the Western Rome and Byzantium Empire. There are very blatant parallels to their decline and our modern world.

You're correct that both parties are Capitalist. I disagree on your take about most of the population. On the whole I think most of the population of the US prefers regulated capitalism to any other proposed alternative.

Theyre two sides of the same coin. The problem is the system...
