UK justice: 20 months jail for X post, 6 months jail for machete murder

"20 months in prison for a social media post.
6 months for killing a teen with a machete."

Can anyone anywhere on the political spectrum justify this?

The UK is totally abandoning freedom of speech. If you're the right skin color or religion, they're more concerned with the backlash against you.
It's like Norm Macdonald said, "What terrifies me is if ISIS were to detonate a nuclear device and kill 50 million Americans. Imagine the backlash against peaceful Muslims?"
If they keep coddling illegal immigration, they're going to get a far-right leader who will do something about it.

Canada going that route too.

Democrats here are going the same direction. What happens when the government can pressure social media to remove "dis/mis/mal-information"--and defines those terms themselves? (here's looking at you, VP candidate Walz!)

It's as Ronald Reagan said, "If we fail here, there's no place left to go." The democrat party, the loathsome RINOs, the uniparty and deep state, leftists and woke 'tards must be stopped.

The people in the UK give great deference to their “old money” elites in a way Americans don’t. Most of those elites are disconnected from the common people and never had to work a day in their lives. Plus, they go to “elite” schools that are dominated by homosexuals and Marxists. They then get elected to Parliament. Lol - good luck. Every 40 years or so they wake up and clean house.

All of you on the left who usually chime in on political discussion are silent here.

I'd prefer to not make this a right vs left thing. I'm sincerely asking those on the left, do you condone this kind of thing? If so, can you explain?

I would think if one thing could bring both parties together, it's the agreement that we should never go to jail for a social media post. For something to be considered a threat it must be specific, as in "At 9pm today at X location I'm going to attack/kill/etc [name of person]." THAT is illegal, I think, because it is a specific threat. However, anything short of that, even if you find it abhorrent, even if it contains factual misrepresentations, is protected speech.

Who on the left will join me in denouncing a government who jails people for 20 months of their lives for social media posts?
