Adult entertainment star Kagney Linn Karter was found dead in her Ohio apartment Thursday.
According to the New York Post, Karter, who was 36 years old, was found dead after an apparent suicide last week. Per reports obtained by TMZ, Karter died on Thursday in Parma, Ohio. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office received her body on that same day, per TMZ
An official with the police department told the outlet that Karter had died by suicide.
In an update, TMZ reported that Karter died from an intraoral shotgun wound, citing documents obtained from Cuyahoga County officials.
Per TMZ, the adult film actress began her career in the mid-2000s and moved from L.A. to Ohio in 2019, where she opened a pole fitness studio.
A GoFundMe was launched by two friends, with an initial goal of raising $8,000 for funeral expenses. The campaign as since raised over $15,000, thanks to help from others. According to the GoFundMe, any leftover funds will be donated to a local animal rescue charity.
"Unfortunately, despite all of her many impressive accomplishments and talents, Kagney struggled with mental health issues as the years passed by. Even in her darkest days, however, she still showed up to the studio, always ready to learn, contribute, better herself in whatever small way she could manage," Karter's friends wrote. “As alone as she undoubtedly felt within the confines of her own head, she continued to make an effort to show up for her friends and the community who cared about her.”

She was a smoke show when she first came out back in 2009-2010. She started out as a dancer at Deja Vu. She did the feature dancer circuit after she became a famous in porn.

Yeah I've seen her, she was hot. A lot of these girls have sexual abuse early on and drugs later on. I don't what her situation was but it's tough to live a normal life in that kind of crazy ass world.

This blows my mind. Sad to see most anyone commit suicide but a really hot woman (at least at one time) was living in Parma Ohio (a rather crappy area near downtown Cleveland) just teaching a pole dancing class?

I had no fucking idea who she was, so I googled her the woman was 36 years old and had credits in over one thousand porn films, first question how was she broke, and damn with that many different films, with only god knows how many sex partners she had, who wouldn't have issues, it's actually to be expected, and sad to note, suicide isn't uncommon amongst porn actresses.

@PuddyTat to be fair the name recognition she (Mia K) got from her time in porn more than made up for her lack of negotiation skills. She didn't even get screwed over, she got standard rates and presumably terms. I think one of the big sites also refuted her claims of only getting $12,000 total in a blog post some time ago.
