Yes, these guys are English, as you can probably tell. Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse are two well known comedians here in the U.K.

    Ha ha - yes car local dealership commercials (not national ads for a particular car make or model) are still pretty much like that.

    I think the strategy is they want you to think they’re regular guys, or even buffoons, who you can out-smart or at least hold your own with or at least not get ripped off when you buy a car at their dealership.

    Back in the 70’s this got syndicated to dealers across the country for late Saturday night TV.

    “Bring the wife and we’ll dicker”

    Pretty edgy even for today. Not sure how it got allowed 50 years ago

    fully equipped with radio and heater and white wall tires! (back in the '50s and '60s and even into the '70s this was heard a lot!)
