Curious. I wonder how long the club has been closed for, and if they were preparing to do anything else with the site.

Buildings with construction going on can be more vulnerable to fires.

Reminds me of an old joke. Punchline is “ Shhhh, that’s next week”.

When you think about it, local governments may sometimes have reason to applaud rather than arrest arsonists. An insurance settlement might have the follow on effect of turning a nuisance property into a tax-generating one.
