I do think a lot of girls expect 10-20k a month and are disappointed that's nearly impossible to hit.

Pragmatically speaking, quotations can also be used as language games (in the Wittgensteinian sense of the term) to manipulate social order and the structure of society

Western Societies Capitalist propaganda promote the idea of the the myth of achieving upward social/economic mobility through one's own merits regardless of one's social position, this is not widely attainable in capitalist societies because of inherent contradictions.
Everyone knows that the wealthy 1% didn’t earn their wealth by working hard and being honest, the numbers don’t add up and math doesn’t lie.
Wealth disparity and limited class mobility remain widespread, regardless of individual work ethic.
Wealth disparity has even increased because the "myth" of meritocracy has been so effectively promoted and defended by the political and private elite through the media, education, corporate culture, and elsewhere.

1. How comfortable are they engaging in sexual behaviors with strangers they are not attracted to.
2. How well they can cope with the many customers of commercial sex with malignant behaviors.
3. How well can the cope with likely demeaning treatment and attitudes from family, current friends, and a large portion of society.
The poverty motivation is not that straight forward. In the US, if you can only get get by by sharing a one bedroom apartment with a friend or relative, you're considered very poor. In other countries, many people would envy you if you live in a place without a dirt floor. I think maybe the clear poverty motivator is when women do sex work so their kids can go to a school where they won't be bullied and will actually learn enough to be employable as adults. Also, minor runaways who can't legally get even a survival job.
Not really seeing the "myths" thing. That would only apply to sex workers with pimps, who force them to keep doing it even if they are disappointed with what they get out of it.
Definitely, if women like expensive things, that's a big motivator to become a sex worker, if you don't have the money for med school or anything.
