Title couldn’t say it all.
“The disposition to admire, and almost to worship, the rich and the powerful, and to despise, or, at least, to neglect persons of poor and mean condition is the great and most universal cause of the corruption of our moral sentiments.”

Talentless people keep score with their wealth. One of the famous economists I follow describes the ultra-wealthy as some of the most insecure people on the planet.
OTOH, I do get tired of the mindless, annoying, cliche that if you're center-left you must also be a poverty-stricken leech.

Money makes women more insecure coz it teaches then they need to buy more shit to not be insecure.
Things are impressive til you realize they don't really change much. Money buys comfort and security. Things people in real first world countries take for granted.
Most people that I know are quite well off, but none of us measure our success in dollars and cents, what we really equate success with is having children that are happy healthy and doing well in their lives, that's how I measure my own success.
