Just curious three questions !

1) Kansas City area enacts sweeping coronavirus ban for restaurants, meetings, schools
Following ever-stricter federal guidance to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus, officials in Kansas City, and Jackson, Johnson and Wyandotte counties on Monday suspended all gatherings of more than 10 people and limited restaurants to drive-thru, pickup and delivery service only.
In addition, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas announced sweeping school closures.
The announcement follows guidance issued earlier Monday by President Donald Trump’s administration, which recommended limiting group gatherings to no more than 10 people.

2) NO, not a cover. It will occur openly as ass-covering of the many problems exposed by COVID-19 and the failure to react to realistic health threats rather performing the now ritualistic American mantra of minimizing and suppressing reasonable concerns allowing these people to continue to believe in a false view of what American society and government really is like. Lying and denying in the service of narcissistic egos.

3) No. The 'new nanny state' will be a product of those Christian nationalists [eg Pence], white nationalist/facists like stephen miller, and the usual economic [shift more $$ to our rich overseers] apologists like Mnuchin. They swore to support and defend the constitution but only in service of white moneyed class.
Trump is a figurehead, albeit, an unpredictable force to be reckoned with. Except for Trumps lifelong pet hobbyhorses and his ever-expanding list of 'enemies' to get revenge after suffering some narcissistic injury to his ego, Trump wants the adulation, doesn't give a crap about policy details, most of which he is too incurious to care about. Trump only real oath is to support and defend his unrealistic view of himself and his 'accomplishments' and to enrich himself in the process. His posse can do what they what if they don't embarrass him and don't interfere in his self-enrichment.
Problem for the sycophants and collaborators mentioned in #3 ¶ 1 : Get Trump to implement their policies while making him believe they are his ideas and he will look good to their base; tolerating Trumps unpredictable shifts in support; making sure Trump knows they will fall on the sword if the ideas fail but Trump will be alone in the spotlight if their policies win popular support.

Oh for FUCK sake just stop it with your hate mongering. The San Francisco Bay Area (six counties) are on a mandatory “Shelter in Place” lock-down. Not exactly a hot bed of right-wing, bible-thumping Trump supporters.

Yes it is likely that there will be some form of nation-wide lock down. Is it the correct thing to do? I don’t know but I’m not sitting in the seat of the guy who HAS TO make these decisions. So if you think this is as real as you’ve complained about (endlessly) then shut the fuck up and be supportive in the time of an emergency. With luck there will be plenty of time to look back and crow about how smart you were, without the most accurate information or more importantly without the responsibility to make the hard decisions, than that dumb shit Trump.

So far, no real change in my and my SO's day to day activities. The only difference is we take out instead of eating in.
