I first learned of bunker or stealth homes in some of the early William Gibson Cyberpunk Novels.
Some are disguised as industrial buildings.
Other people make floating homes, all below the water line. On top they look like natural islands, but they are actually floating. Can have lots of stuff and lots of water tankage in there. Can be like a thousand tons.
