A security guard for a Southeast Portland strip club fatally shot a man in the club’s parking lot early Tuesday, police say.

Portland police said two men approached the guard in the Dream On Saloon parking lot, a disturbance ensued and the guard shot one of the men. The two men ran away, but authorities found them.

The man who was shot was taken to a hospital and later died, police said. The other man was arrested.

Police said the security guard is cooperating with investigators. They said there’s no known public danger.

Police haven’t publicly identified anyone involved in the incident. No additional information about the circumstances of the disturbance were immediately released.

Tuesday’s fatal shooting, which was reported about 2:30 a.m., is at least the second to occur outside the strip club in recent months.

Edward L. Taylor Jr., 26, was found dead on a sidewalk just north of the club on Nov. 15. Police recovered shell casings from the parking lot of the club, which is located at 160th Avenue and Stark Street. They haven’t announced any arrests in the fatal shooting.

Police encourage anyone who has information about Tuesday’s shooting to call Detective Todd Gradwahl at 503-823-0991 or Detective Brad Clifton at 503-823-0696. The incident is under investigation.

Not surprised. The Dream On Saloon is not in the best neighborhood. I would only go there during daylight.
